A beautiful book illustrated with 9 original full-page etchings by Wifredo Lam. T Limited edition of 175 copies on Rives vellum, signed by the painter and the poet (no. 123). “ All sorts of delays hindered the production of this book: the artist’s distance, the need to commission a Milanese engraver, and the choice of a plate format that doubled the book’s originally planned size. René Char had to wait five years for the engravings, which he deemed ‘admirable’ when he saw them, and he went on to love the book […]. Finally, the exhibition of the book at the Point Cardinal, Jean Hugues’s gallery, gave him the opportunity to write one of the most delightful essays he ever devoted to a painter—*From The Holy Family to The Right to Laziness*” (Antoine Coron).
