Italian or Spanish frame, early 18th century. Carved and gilded wood. It presents faults in the carving and xylophages. Measurements: 205 x 153,5 cm (interior light); 236 x 182 x 8 cm (exterior). Baroque frame from the beginning of the 18th century made of gilded wood. With a rectangular moulded profile, it has a characteristic feature of the Baroque language, as it is decorated with the ornamental repertoire of scallops, brackets and classical plant elements painted in detail and placed in a symmetrical composition. Another key feature of this language is the fact that, despite the importance of the ornamentation in the frame, it is always subordinate to the structural lines, which should in no way be concealed. As is usual in the Baroque period, the frame has a regular, classical and balanced structure, perfectly defined, which is never overwhelmed by the decorative elements.
