JEAN-CHARLES ELLAUME (1714-1763) Wood and veneer chest of drawers opening with three drawers and crosspieces. The drawers are decorated with frisee marquetry. The curved sides are decorated with diamond frisee marquetry. Attractive ornamentation in varnished bronze, including corner caps, clogs, pull handles, lock escutcheons... Stamped JC Ellaume and JME on the top right-hand crosspiece. Pyrenean red marble top. Louis XV period H: 85 - W: 88 - D: 49 cm (Slightly worn veneer) Cabinetmaker awarded the title of Master in Paris on November 6, 1754. Documents of the period often refer to him as Allaume. Many pieces of furniture bear his stamp. Most are Louis XV commodes.
