CARTIER

Travelling clock in vermeil 800 thousandths, dressed with translucent blue enamel on a radiating guilloche background, enhanced with white enamel nets. It rests on a base in agate. Silvered dial with painted Arabic numerals meaning "ALBERT MIRIAM". Hands and monogram on the top in platinum 850 thousandths, enhanced with diamond roses. Bezel and base border with pearl decoration in gold 750 thousandth. Swiss mechanical movement, key winding, anchor escapement, Breguet balance spring. Dial signed Cartier, case numbered 11325. Circa 1910 (as is for the movement). It is accompanied by its red morocco case (accident to the dial cover), bearing the inscription "L 15 DECEMBER 1910", and its brass key. Dim : 4,3 x 3,5 x 5,9 cm - Gross weight : 168,90 g Exempted : art. 524 bis al.c. Provenance: According to family tradition, this clock was given to Daisy de Gunzburg (1881-1974), maid of honor to Miriam Caroline Alexandrine de Rothschild (1884-1965) on the occasion of her marriage to Albert Maximilian von Goldschmidt-Rothschild (1879-1941) on 15 December 1910.
