CHRISTIAN LU Großes quadratisches Seidentuch mit vielfarbigem Blumenmuster in Orange-, Rosa- und Grüntönen 2000er Jahre Maße: 110 x 110 cm Christian Lu (geb. 1951 in Shanghai) ist ein französisch-chinesischer Maler, der seit 1981 in Paris lebt. Er wurde bei großen Meistern der chinesischen Malerei ausgebildet und arbeitete insbesondere an der Seite von Zao Wou-Ki, dessen Assistent er von 1982 bis 1989 war. 1985 gründete er seine eigene, nach ihm benannte Marke und übertrug sein bildnerisches Universum auf die Textilgestaltung, insbesondere auf Seide. Seine Kreationen zeichnen sich durch die Begegnung zwischen orientalischen Kunsttraditionen und westlicher Ästhetik aus, wodurch Textilien zu einem echten Medium des künstlerischen Ausdrucks werden.
