Große gehörnte afrikanische Maske Wohl Westafrika. Holz, tlw. gekalkt, polychrom gefasst, Höhe m./o. Sockel: 150/103 cm. Das langgezogene Haupt mit durchbrochen gearbeiteter Mittelpartie und kammartig gestaffelten Öffnungen verweist auf spirituelle Energie und die Verbindung zwischen irdischer und geistiger Welt. Die hoch aufragenden, gebogenen Hörner symbolisieren Wachstum, Fruchtbarkeit und die Dynamik der Feldarbeit. Seitliche, geometrisch reduzierte Elemente rahmen das Gesicht und verstärken die architektonische Wirkung der Maske. Reste einer ursprünglichen Fassung in erdigen Weiß-, Ocker- und Brauntönen und Reste der gekalkten Oberfläche sind erhalten. Die deutlich sichtbare Alterspatina, Gebrauchsspuren und kleinere Bestoßungen zeugen von authentischer Verwendung im zeremoniellen Kontext.
