Affe als Musikdirektor aus der Affenkapelle - Johann Joachim Kaendler Staatliche Porzellan Manufaktur, Meissen 1978. Porzellan, weiß, glasiert. Polychrom und Gold bemalt. Unter der Glasur blaue Schwertermarke. 1. Wahl. Eingeritzte Modellnr. 60001. Eingepresste Bossierernr. 85 und Jahreszeichen Z. H. 18,5 cm. Affe als Dirigent mit roter Jacke in exaltierter Haltung mit erhobenem Arm und Notenblatt, auf rocailliertem Rundsockel. Entwurf von Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) um 1753-1765 unter Mitarbeit von Peter Reinicke. Die Affenkapelle, bestehend aus 21 Figuren und Notenpult, gehört zu den populärsten Beispielen des Meissener Barocks. Die Darstellung von Affen - "les singeries", die menschliche Verhaltensweisen parodieren - war besonders in Frankreich ein beliebtes Sujet. Als Vorlage für die Meissener Kapelle dienten Zeichnungen des französischen "Singerie"-Malers Christophe Huet (1694-1759).
