Industrial Photography Photographer unknown. Construction of the Charlottenburg gasworks and its facilities. 1908-1911. 3 vintage collodion paper prints, 2 vintage gelatin silver prints. Each circa 29,5 x 24 cm or reverse. The historic gasometer, once located at Gaußstraße 1 in Berlin-Charlottenburg, was originally constructed ca. 1911. It featured telescopic gas holders and later two large, 50-metre-high spherical high-pressure gas holders for the storage of natural and town gas. The plant was decommissioned in 1991, and the industrial structures were dismantled in the summer of 2006 as the site was redeveloped. – Some with creases in edges, some with tears in edges, some with pinholes, two with some discoloration spots, otherwise in good condition.
