(fragment)" Date: 1830 Description: After a painting by Moritz von Schwind (1804 Vienna - 1871 Pöcking). The illustration shows a section of the painting in which four scenes can be seen in different areas, following each other independently in time and space. The painting follows a poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe from 1802 with the same title. The detail shows the lower centre of the painting, in which the protagonist Ritter Curt (also Kurt) is being accosted by a crowd at a market stall.
