Lower middle further inscription: "Il est esteint, & il la brufle.". Date: 1649 Description: Depiction of a cartouche with banner. Large waves crash around a building. The sky is lit by the rays of the sun breaking through the clouds. The sheet shows signs of dust and dirt according to its age. Subtle brownish discolourations appear in places within the image, but are particularly prominent at the left edge of the plate. The sheet is soiled and creased especially in the upper right corner. The sheet has been trimmed 0.8cm from the platemark at the left, 1.4cm at the bottom, and 1.5cm at the right and top. On the reverse the sheet has been strengthened by gluing a paper margin. The writing on the reverse shines through the sheet.
