Unknown (19th), An Alpine village with Alpine huts in the snow, 1810, Pencil Unknown (19th century): Alpine village with alpine huts in the snow in front of mountain ranges, 1810, Pencil Technique: Pencil on Paper Inscription: Lower right monogrammed: "[?]". Date: 1810 Description: The pencil drawing shows an alpine village in a wintry mountain landscape. In the foreground is a wooden hut on stilts, perched slightly above a slope. In the background are several roofs of other buildings nestled in the valley. The mountain range in the background is indicated, with the contours of the peaks slightly blurred. The use of light and shadow is subtle, with fine hatching that reflects the texture of snow and wood. The composition leads the eye diagonally from the hut to the distant mountains, giving the composition a dynamic depth. This suggests a calm, secluded atmosphere in the wintry landscape.
