COLOGNE Title: Double Pear Coin Scales. Date: 1615-65. Material: Wooden box made of pear. Iron scales with brass weighing pans and green cords. Brass weights. Measurement: 3.5 x 15.5 x 8.5 cm. Mark: On the inside a Cologne shopkeepers’ mark (1615–1655). Description: A rectangular box with ornamental embossed and incised decoration and a drawer on the side. The drawer contains 13 weights bearing coin designs, whilst the lower compartment holds 18 weights. Beneath a small drawer are three balancing weights.
