VON AACHEN, TÖNNIES Cologne Title: A Three-Tier Pear Wood Coin Scales. Date: Dated 1680. Material: A wooden box made of pear. An iron set of scales with brass pans and green and beige cords. Brass weights. Measurement: 4.5 x 16.5 x 9 cm. Mark: One of the scales is marked. Dated ‘AO 1680’ on the top of the lid. The owner’s monogram ‘SP’ is ligated. Description: Tall rectangular box with rounded corners and ornamental embossed and incised decoration. The drawer labeled with weight markings in black ink contains 10 weights with coin designs, the bottom drawer holds 15 weights and the top drawer holds 15 weights. There are 3 balancing weights beneath the small drawer inside the box.
