MEISSEN Title: Large Porcelain washing-up bowl with Gold-Etched Chinoiserie Motifs. Date: Ca. 1720/30. Designer: Decor Seuter-Werkstatt, Augsburg. Material: Porcelain, etched gold decor. Measurement: Height 8.5 cm, Ø 18 cm. Mark: Old collection label and inventory number in black under finish. Description: A short, bowl-shaped body with a flared rim. The side features four chinoiserie scenes on a band running along the base, including hunting, trading and battle scenes. The interior is decorated with a wide gold band and scrollwork, the centre depicts a Chinese man seated at a table and a vendor beneath a canopy, flanked by two attendants holding parasols.
