FRANCE Title: Large Bronze Cercle Tournant Clock with Three Graces. Date: End 19th c. Material: Fire-gilded bronze, partially dark-blue-patinated white marble amongst others. Measurement: Height 75.5 cm. Description: On a three-sided, slightly scalloped plinth stand three large-scale figures of the Graces adorned with floral garlands. Their arms are raised high, supporting a dark-blue-polychromed sphere crowned by a small genius. The sphere houses the clockwork, featuring horizontally rotating enamel cartouches for the minutes and hours, inscribed with Arabic and Roman numerals, respectively, as well as a welded steel hand. The clock with two barrels, verge escapement with ruby bearing and compensated bimetallic balance wheel as well as rack striking work on a bell.
