Gemstones: 3 small, round gemstone cabochons, 1 missing, Ø ca. 2.6 mm, 1 carved lion's body. Description: An extraordinary necklace, set at its centre with an ancient Roman stone statuette of a resting lion, carved in the full-relief style. The animal is depicted in a reclining posture with its head raised, a distinctive mane and its forepaws stretched out. The ancient miniature sculpture is mounted in a bespoke, architecturally designed gold setting. The necklace tapers off at the sides and is sculpturally crafted with end pieces in the shape of two snakes.
