Clemente, who had not worked in lithography before, delighted in experimenting in all the subtleties the medium could offer.« (Robert Flynn Johnson, in: LC). - Raymond Foye served as artistic director of the edition. The original lithographs were drawn between 1983 and January 1986 at the Petersburg Studios in New York and printed by hand at Rolf Neumann’s workshop in Stuttgart on thin Okawara Kozo paper from the Takaokaeishi Mill in Ino-Cho, Kochi, Japan. - The book was also printed in Stuttgart under the direction of Hansjörg Mayer and Elizabeth Mahoney. - Includes the folded insert »Translator’s Note«.
