Upper right numbered in the printing plate: "I. Deel Fol. 233.". Date: 1725 Description: Depiction of Dirk I (c. 875-923/39), Count of Holland, in full figure, in front of an architectural backdrop with an implied scene from his life. He wears a splendid cloak and a turban-like headdress, holding a sword in his right hand, while a coat of arms adorns his left shoulder. The elaborately designed framing - printed separately - is decorated with armour, weapons, hunting motifs and vanitas symbols.
