Inscribed in the printing plate: "Die Dritte Salbung [...]". Date: 17th century Description: The artwork shows a complex composition with religious content. Christ stands in the centre, surrounded by clouds and angels, with a flag in his left hand and a gesture of blessing in his right hand. His majestic expression is emphasised by the rays behind him, which symbolise his divine nature. Numerous text fields containing theological statements and biblical quotations are inserted around the central image. The architecture of the frame is richly decorated with ornamentation, including columns and scrollwork. In the lower part there is a coat of arms with religious symbols, framed by scrolls. The overall style suggests a Renaissance print, both in terms of iconography and design.
