In the foreground, a winding path leads along a wall, lined with trees and bushes. Two figures are walking along the path, engrossed in a conversation. The composition directs the viewer's gaze along the path towards the castle, which is characterised by its characteristic towers and roofs. Gentle hills or mountains can be recognised in the background, providing a natural framing. The lighting conditions are diffuse, creating a calm atmosphere. The colour scheme is restrained, predominantly in sepia tones, which lends the picture a nostalgic character.
