Large square scarf by the Roman camiceria Battistoni with a hand-rolled hem, the label marked Made in France and 100% Reine Seide, the name BATTISTONI additionally printed into the design. On a cobalt blue ground, densely scattered flowering branches in cream and brown tones, between them birds and butterflies with yellow, green and orange accents; the central field framed by a band of lozenge cartouches, on the outside a wide dark blue border. Good condition, slightly thinned at one corner, 140x140 cm (LxW). The camiceria Battistoni was founded in 1946 by Guglielmo Battistoni in a courtyard on the Via Condotti in Rome and is still at the same address today. Alongside shirts and ties, printed silk scarves were always part of the range. A piece for admirers of Italian fashion and classic silk accessories.
