MUMIENPORTRAIT, SOGENANNTES „FAYOUM-PORTRAIT“ Ägyptische Kunst, römische Zeit, um das 2. Jahrhundert n. Chr. Mit Enkaustik auf einer Holztafel mit abgerundeter Oberkante gemaltes Porträt, das den Verstorbenen als Büste eines jungen Mannes in leichter Dreiviertelansicht mit kurzem schwarzem Haar darstellt. Seine dichten, an der Nasenwurzel zusammenlaufenden Augenbrauen umrahmen mandelförmige Augen mit lebhaftem Blick, die mit Weiß hervorgehoben sind und nach rechts gerichtet sind. Die Nase ist gerade und lang, das Philtrum tief, darüber liegt ein Mund mit vollen Lippen. Er trägt eine helle Tunika, die mit purpurfarbenen Clavi verziert ist, die auf der rechten Schulter sichtbar sind. Risse im Holz, Absplitterungen, Fehlstellen und einige Ausbesserungen.
