Hinterding, variant PBD). (1659). 18 x 21.8 cm (sheet). Bartsch 94; White/Boon 94 IV (of IV); Hinterding/Rutgers (The New Hollstein) 312 IV (of VI). A very good, well-inked and clear and crisp impression of the fifth state, trimmed to the platemark. Most of the shadows reworked with a mezzotint rocker, i.e. John's forehead; before the changes characteristic of the sixth state, such as the reworked canopy and the inside of the arch. – Two short, closed tears at the upper edge. On the verso, a spot of paper thinning in the left margin and a tiny abrasion in the centre. Otherwise in good condition. Taxation: differenzbesteuert (VAT: Margin Scheme).
