Bartsch 126; White/Boon 126 II (of II); Hinterding/Rutgers (The New Hollstein) 242 II (of IX). Provenance: Alfred Gabriel Hubert (1831–1908), Paris, with his collector’s stamp verso (Lugt 130). An exceptionally fine, strong lifetime impression of New Hollstein’s second state (of nine), printing with rich contrasts and before the two dots added in the upper left corner. With narrow margins above and at the sides, and a small margin below. – Along the lower platemark with a horizontal area of paper disturbance. A small paper defect at the centre of the upper edge, backed. The sheet slightly toned with age. Verso with an old mounting strip along the upper edge and a small area of paper thinning in the lower right corner. Otherwise in good condition. Taxation: regelbesteuert (VAT: Regular Taxation).
