Zeitgenössischer Pergamentband aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, leicht berieben und mit neuem Rücken. Vollständig: 72 Seiten. Insgesamt klar und gut erhalten. Cambini (ca. 1450–1527), italienischer Humanist und Schriftsteller, verfasste eines der frühesten Werke über das Osmanische Reich, das posthum veröffentlicht wurde. Es enthält mehrere wertvolle Primärquellen zum Fall von Konstantinopel, die auf den Aussagen von Überlebenden basieren. Cambini beschrieb die Organisation und Disziplin der Osmanen und lieferte damit einen umfassenden zeitgenössischen Bericht über den Aufstieg der Osmanen und den Fall von Byzanz.
