Jules Lecoultre - Decimale Time (*) A remarkable pocket watch with decimal time Case No. 42759, Dimensions 55 mm, circa 1894, Weight 137 g, Origin Schweiz Case: Silver. Dial: Enamel. Movm.: Divided 4/5 plate movement, lever escapement, screw compensation balance. Decimal watches became popular for a second time around the end of the 19th century; this silver pocket watch dates from that period and has as many as three hour indicators on the dial: next to the traditional 12-hour ring are auxiliary 10-hour and 24-hour dials. The seconds are also displayed in both 60 and 100 divisions. The dial has a blue, gold and black colour scheme and is very finely executed. The back of the case is lovingly decorated with a vivid equine engraving. Case: very good. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, to be restored.
