Dial: Two-tone silvered. Movm.: Manual. Developed in 1931 for British polo players in India, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso ranks amongst the great design classics of watchmaking history. Its distinctive reversible case, designed by René-Alfred Chauvot, made it possible to flip the delicate watch crystal inwards during play and protect it from impacts thanks to the solid case back. This functional idea gave rise to an Art Deco icon. The Reverso Grande Taille, introduced in the 1990s, applies the classic concept to a more generously proportioned case. This particular example features a 26 x 42 mm stainless steel case and is in very fine condition. The elegant two-tone silver dial features the Reverso’s signature design elements: Arabic numerals, a railway-track minute scale, blued hands and a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The distinctive grooves above and below the dial emphasise the unmistakable Art Deco aesthetic. Case: very good. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
