No. D053384, Ref. 1675, Cal. 1570, Case No. 2980612, Dimensions 39 mm, circa 1971, Origin Schweiz Case: Steel, "re-case" using the original serial no., screw back with marking 1675 and 1/71, bidirectional rotating blue and red bezel (MKII), screwed "Twinlock" winding crown, folded "Jubilee" steel bracelet ref. 6251H in good condition, endlinks stamped 55, total length 165 mm. Dial: Black (MKI), luminous indexes (tritium), luminous Mercedes hands (tritium). Movm.: Automatic. This timepiece is an extremely attractive and highly sought-after classic piece with charmingly aged Café au lait-coloured luminous tritium indexes. The serial number 2980612 and reference number are perfectly legible, although the font used in the engraving of the reference number suggests that the case has been replaced whilst retaining the original serial number. The MKI dial is very good, but does not match the serial number; however, the watch could be upgraded with an MKII dial. A watch with good substance that just needs the right dial. The Rolex GMT Master pilot’s watch is one of the most coveted vintage collector’s pieces worldwide; it is considered the most distinguished model of the GMT-Master series. Production started in the 1960s and ran until the 1980s. The watch mostly featured the classic "Pepsi" bezel with the distinctive blue and red bezel design. However the watch also came with a black bezel, which lends the watch a very elegant and sophisticated appeal. Case: very good, slightly worn. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
