This Day-Date has a crisp case with a beautiful bark-finish bezel and a very attractive 18k yellow gold President bracelet, also with bark texture and showing only minimal stretch. Inside ticks the automatic calibre 3155 with a silver hairspring, which is why we recommend a service. The watch comes with its box and punched papers from Bucherer in Basel. It was first purchased on 09 August 1990. The Rolex Day-Date is one of those rare wristwatches which always surprise the market with their almost endless combinations of case and dial variations. This reference 18248 features one of the most popular and rare dial types: a shimmering ferrite stone in varying shades of grey. Ferrite is a ceramic alloy with a striking, almost meteoritic reflectivity that gives the dial an exceptionally graphic appearance. The bark-finish bezel features fine cross-hatching and rectangular hour markers that harmonise perfectly with the applied Roman numerals on the dial. This textured pattern is echoed in the centre links of the gold Rolex President bracelet, further enhancing its appeal.
