Breguet - Classique Tourbillon A very elegant neo-vintage wristwatch with one-minute tourbillon Movm. No. 237, Ref. 3357, Cal. 558, Case No. 3255A, Dimensions 36 mm, circa 1991, Origin Schweiz, Original box, Accessories, gold original clasp Case: 18 K gold, glazed push back, reeded caseband. Dial: Two-tone silvered, guilloché pattern. Movm.: Manual. The hand-engraved movement is inscribed "7 Messidor An 9", which is the 26th of June, 1801 in the Gregorian calendar. It is the date when Abraham Louis Breguet received the patent for his tourbillon, which he had developed and tirelessly worked on over 10 years. Even today the tourbillon regulator is regarded as a technical masterpiece produced only by the most accomplished makers. The tourbillon regulator was first used in a Breguet wristwatch in 1988. Before he even established his own manufactory, Daniel Roth, who was one of the most gifted watchmakers of his period, was tasked with reviving the Breguet brand. Roth did a lot of careful research on the Breguet timepieces, which resulted in the development of the breathtaking tourbillon wristwatch reference 3350. This watch features all the typical Breguet elements such as the eponymous hands, the guilloche pattern on the dial and the fluted band. In the 1990s Breguet launched another masterpiece, the tourbillon reference 3357 with the same well-tried caliber 558 by Daniel Roth. The timepiece has a large opening for the tourbillon cage in the lower part of the dial and the offset hour and minute display in the upper half. The visible plate is finely hand-engraved with intricate tendril ornamentation that is repeated on the backside and can be admired through the crystal pressure back. The watch has been well cared for and shows only the slightest signs of wear. Case: very good. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
